DTF Printing Process
Master the step-by-step process of Direct To Film printing

Step 1
Design Preparation

Create or prepare your artwork in graphic design software
- Use RGB color mode for best results
- Resolution: 300 DPI minimum
- Mirror the image horizontally
- Add white base layer for dark garments

Step 2
Film Printing
2-5 min
Print your design onto DTF transfer film
- Load DTF film with coated side facing print head
- Print CMYK colors first, then white layer
- Use appropriate print settings in RIP software
- Check for proper ink coverage

Step 3
Powder Application
1-2 min
Apply hot melt adhesive powder while ink is wet
- Apply powder evenly across wet ink
- Shake off excess powder gently
- Ensure complete coverage of printed areas
- Recycle excess powder for reuse

Step 4
Curing/Melting
2-3 min
Cure the powder to activate adhesive properties
- Heat to 160-170°C (320-340°F)
- Cure for 2-3 minutes in oven
- Or use heat press at lower temp
- Powder should appear glossy when cured

Step 5
Transfer Application
20-30 sec
Heat press the transfer onto your garment
- Pre-press garment to remove moisture
- Position transfer on garment
- Press at 160°C (320°F) for 15-20 seconds
- Apply medium to firm pressure

Step 6
Peeling
10-20 sec
Remove the film to reveal your design
- Allow to cool for 5-10 seconds
- Peel cold for best results
- Peel slowly at 45-degree angle
- Re-press if any lifting occurs
