DTF Color Notes: Heather and frost colors (50/50 blend) require temperature reduction to 295–305°F to prevent dye migration from the polyester content. Always test dark heathers before committing to a full production run.

### DT6000-Specific DTF Tips Lighter fabric = faster heat penetration — At 4.3 oz, the DT6000 is significantly thinner than a Gildan 5000 (5.3 oz) or Jerzees 29MR (5.6 oz). Heat reaches the adhesive layer faster, which means your standard 15-second press time is a maximum, not a minimum. Going to 17–18 seconds can leave visible press marks on the thin fabric. Ring-spun surface advantage — The combed ring-spun cotton produces a smoother, more uniform surface than open-end cotton. DTF transfers lay flatter with fewer air pockets, resulting in sharper detail and more consistent color. 30-singles weave — This creates a medium-density fabric that balances softness with printability. Fine detail down to 2-point text is achievable on the DT6000. Side seam construction — Unlike tubular-knit budget tees, the DT6000 is side-seamed, which means the front and back panels are distinct pieces. This prevents the print area from twisting after washing.

For complete temperature guidelines, see our DTF Transfer Temperature Guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the DT6000 the same as the old District Threads tee?

Yes. District was originally branded as "District Threads" before being rebranded to simply "District." The DT6000 has been updated over the years with improved fabric and fit, but it is the evolution of the original District Threads lineup.

Does the DT6000 shrink?

Minimal shrinkage. The DT6000 is preshrunk and the combed ring-spun cotton holds its shape well through multiple wash cycles. Expect less than 3% shrinkage when following care instructions.

Is the DT6000 good for sublimation?

The DT6000 in white and very light solid colors can accept sublimation prints, but results will be inferior to 100% polyester substrates. The heather and frost colors (50/50 blend) will produce better sublimation results on light shades. For full-color sublimation, a dedicated polyester tee is recommended. See our DTF vs Sublimation Comparison.

Why does the DT6000 go up to 6XL?

District designed the DT6000 to be the universal workhorse tee for the decoration industry, which means serving the widest possible customer base. The 6XL option is relatively rare in the fashion blank market and is a major differentiator.
