What size should I order in a Comfort Colors sweatshirt?
Most people should order their usual size, because Comfort Colors sweatshirts have a relaxed, slightly boxy fit. Size up one size for an oversized look. Compare your best-fitting sweatshirt, laid flat, against the chest and length in the chart and choose the closest match. The garment dye and ring-spun fleece soften with washing, and some shrinkage is normal, so a small difference is likely after the first wash.
How to measure
- Lay a sweatshirt that fits well flat on a table.
- Measure straight across the chest, one inch below the armholes.
- Measure length from the high point of the shoulder, next to the collar, to the bottom hem.
- Match both numbers to the chart. The chest number is the width, not the circumference, so double it for the full chest.
Comfort Colors sweatshirt vs T-shirt sizing
A sweatshirt runs roomier than a tee in the same size, and Comfort Colors cuts both relaxed. If you also sell Comfort Colors T-shirts, see our Comfort Colors T-shirt size chart and the adult sizing chart comparison. For other crewnecks, compare the Gildan 18000 guide and Jerzees 562MR guide.
Printing a Comfort Colors sweatshirt with DTF
The 1566 is a 9.5 ounce, 80 percent cotton and 20 percent polyester garment-dyed fleece, which presses well with DTF. Pre-press for 3 to 5 seconds to drive out moisture, press at 300 to 320 degrees F for 12 to 15 seconds with medium-firm pressure, cold peel and post-press under parchment for 5 to 10 seconds. A full front print on a sweatshirt is about 11 to 12 inches wide. Test one sweatshirt first, because garment-dyed fabric can release dye on heat, so check for dye migration on dark colors. Our hoodies and sweatshirts guide covers pressing fleece, and cheapest sweatshirt blanks shows where it sits on price.
