DTG (Direct to Garment)
Definition
What is DTG?
A printing method where ink is applied directly onto the fabric using an inkjet printer. Unlike DTF, DTG requires pre-treatment of garments (always on dark colors) and works best on 100% cotton and high-cotton blends, while DTF transfers onto cotton, polyester, blends, nylon, and leather with no pre-treatment. DTG gives a very soft, almost unnoticeable hand; DTF leaves a thin film but is rated more durable (50-80+ washes) and suits gang-sheet production for small and medium runs.
