Carrier transit times to Hawaii
These are the carriers' own published expectations as of Oct. 29, 2026. None of them are guarantees except Priority Mail Express.
| Service | Mainland to Hawaii | Source |
|---|---|---|
| USPS Ground Advantage | 10 or more business days, not guaranteed | USPS FAQ and 2026 holiday release |
| USPS Priority Mail | 2 to 4 business days, not guaranteed | USPS FAQ |
| USPS Priority Mail Express | 1 to 3 calendar days, guaranteed | USPS FAQ |
| FedEx Ground | 3 to 7 business days, to business addresses | FedEx Ground page |
The USPS Ground Advantage page itself warns that packages to places including Hawaii and Alaska "may receive slower service." USPS's 2026 holiday release repeats the 10-day-or-more expectation for Ground Advantage to Hawaii. FedEx says FedEx Ground delivers to business addresses in all 50 states and that shipping to and from Hawaii takes 3 to 7 business days.
UPS publishes Hawaii zone charts and rates, but its public pages do not say plainly which UPS Ground services run from the mainland to Hawaii for ordinary shippers. UPS Ground Saver, a contract service, covers residential delivery from the 48 contiguous states to Hawaii, takes UPS Ground time plus one to two days, and may be handed to USPS for final delivery.
What that means for an order: if a supplier ships USPS Ground Advantage by default, a Hawaii order can take two weeks or more. Choosing Priority Mail brings it back to a few days for most small transfer packages. What transfer companies say about Hawaii orders
Most transfer companies' shipping pages do not mention Hawaii at all. Four that do:
- Ninja Transfers says orders shipped outside the contiguous U.S. may require an additional shipping fee and that orders to Alaska and Hawaii typically take 3 to 5 business days. Its page does not say whether its free-shipping threshold applies to Hawaii.
- Transfer Express, which ships from Mentor, Ohio, says Priority and Express Mail are available for Alaska and Hawaii, and that choosing USPS adds an extra day. Its $15 flat ground rate and its 2-day "Speedy Air" option apply to the contiguous or continental U.S.
- STAHLS' limits its flat-rate ground program to U.S. customers excluding Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories, and its $15 two-day program to the continental U.S.
- DTF Transfers Unlimited says free shipping is only available within the continental United States and excludes Alaska and Hawaii. It ships USPS Ground Advantage, with other options available.
The pattern: free and flat-rate shipping offers usually stop at the contiguous 48. Before ordering, check whether the free-shipping threshold applies to Hawaii and what the Priority Mail upgrade costs. Our guide to buying DTF transfers online covers the other questions to ask.
Storing transfers in Hawaii humidity
Transfer companies agree that heat and humidity are the main threats to DTF transfers. Transfer Express says to store transfers in a cool, dry place in a climate-controlled room around 68 to 72 degrees F, kept in the plastic they arrive in, and to avoid garages and crawl spaces. Ninja Transfers says humidity above 50% can cause bubbles and peeling edges, that heat can melt the adhesive so transfers stick together, and that transfers stored poorly should be pressed within 30 days.
For a Hawaii shop without air conditioning in the work area, that points to three habits:
- Keep transfers sealed in their bag or an airtight container, flat, until pressing day
- Order closer to when the job will be pressed, which local shops make easier
- Do not leave a delivered box on a lanai or in a car

Frequently asked questions
How long does shipping DTF transfers to Hawaii take?
It depends on the service. USPS lists Priority Mail to Hawaii at 2 to 4 business days and Ground Advantage at 10 or more business days, and FedEx lists FedEx Ground at 3 to 7 business days to business addresses. Ninja Transfers says its Hawaii orders typically take 3 to 5 business days.
Do DTF transfer companies offer free shipping to Hawaii?
Usually not. STAHLS' and DTF Transfers Unlimited both exclude Alaska and Hawaii from their free or flat-rate shipping, Transfer Express limits its flat ground rate to the contiguous U.S., and Ninja Transfers says shipments outside the contiguous U.S. may cost extra.
Which shipping option should a Hawaii shop pick for DTF transfers?
Priority Mail is the usual middle ground for small transfer packages, at 2 to 4 business days according to USPS. Ground Advantage is cheaper but now carries a 10-day-or-more expectation to Hawaii, which is too slow for most event orders.
Are there DTF transfer suppliers in Honolulu?
Yes. DTF Database lists AlohaDTF and Airbrush Hawaii, which both sell DTF gang sheets and serve the neighbor islands, plus 808 Printer, Print Proz Hawaii, and other Oahu decorators. One Shot Supplies in Waipahu sells DTF film, powder, and heat presses.
How should DTF transfers be stored in Hawaii?
Keep them sealed, flat, and in an air-conditioned room. Transfer Express recommends about 68 to 72 degrees F, and Ninja Transfers warns that humidity above 50% can cause bubbling and peeling, so press transfers soon after they arrive if storage is warm.
