Easter 2027 Shirts: Bunny Hop 5Ks and Family Ideas

Easter 2027 falls on Sunday, March 28, 2027, which makes Saturday, March 27 the big day for Bunny Hop 5Ks, egg-hunt fun runs, and family photo shirts. Orthodox Easter is later, on Sunday, May 2, 2027. An early Easter compresses the season: shirt deadlines for most races land in the first week of March, right on top of March Madness and St. Patrick's Day orders. This guide covers the dates, a set of Easter-weekend races that have already posted 2027 details, design ideas, and the brand names to keep off.

Easter 2027 dates

The White House Easter Egg Roll has been held on the Monday after Easter in recent years, but the 2027 date has not been announced as of Oct. 18, 2026.

Easter-weekend races with 2027 details posted

All of these were listed on RunSignup as of Oct. 18, 2026. Race-day details can change, so confirm with each organizer before printing dated shirts.

The pattern is consistent: most Easter races guarantee a shirt only for early registrants, with a cutoff about three weeks out. For a race director, that cutoff is the print deadline. For a local shop, it is the date to have a proof approved.

Who buys Easter shirts

Race directors and sponsors. Race shirts with sponsor logos on the back, usually on a light-colored or pastel blank. Our turkey trot race shirt guide covers sponsor layouts, sizing splits, and the blanks that runners actually wear. Families. Matching shirts for egg hunts and Easter photos: "Egg Hunt Crew," "Some Bunny Loves You," the family name, or each kid's name over a bunny. Toddler and youth sizes dominate these orders. Churches. Easter service, sunrise service, and youth group shirts. "He Is Risen," a cross with lilies, or the church's own name and the year. Daycares and schools. Spring egg-hunt and class party shirts. These often come in as one design across many youth sizes.

Design and brand names to leave off

A bunny, an egg, a basket, a chick, and pastel colors are generic, and no one owns the Easter Bunny. Specific candy and character brands are a different story. Peeps is a trademark of Just Born, and character rabbits from children's books and cartoons belong to their owners. A shirt shaped like a branded candy wrapper or showing a licensed character is the kind of order to decline unless the customer has a license. Our licensed character and trademark guide explains why.

Printing pastels with DTF

Easter shirts are mostly light colors: white, pale pink, light blue, mint, butter yellow, and heather. That helps with DTF because a light design on a light blank can sometimes skip the heavy white underbase. Two things to watch:

• Light-on-light contrast. Pastel art on a pastel shirt can disappear. Add a darker outline or put the art on white.
• Heather and tri-blend blanks. Polyester content means a lower press temperature. The DTF temperature and time chart lists settings by fabric.

For kids' orders with mixed sizes, use the placement guide so a toddler 2T print is not the same width as an adult large, and check our youth XL size guide before ordering blanks.

Production timing

• Late January to February: race directors and churches finalize designs. Lock race shirts early because the registration cutoffs are the first week of March.
• First week of March: race shirt print deadline for most of the races above. This lands on top of St. Patrick's Day and March Madness orders.
• Mid-March: family, school, and church orders.
• Week of March 22: last-minute family shirts. Keep generic bunny and egg designs on a ready gang sheet.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is Easter 2027?

Easter Sunday is March 28, 2027. Good Friday is March 26 and Palm Sunday is March 21. Orthodox Easter falls later, on Sunday, May 2, 2027.

When are Bunny Hop 5K races in 2027?

Most Easter races are on Saturday, March 27, 2027. Races already posted for that date include the Bunny Run 5K in Concord, North Carolina, the Easter Egg 5K in Overland Park, Kansas, the Cottontail Classic in Verona, Wisconsin, and a Bunny Hop 5K in Greenville, South Carolina.

When should Easter race shirts be ordered?

Order them three to four weeks before the race. Several 2027 Easter races guarantee shirts only for runners registered by early March, so the final count arrives about three weeks out and the shirts need to be printed right after.

Can I put Peeps or a cartoon bunny on an Easter shirt?

Not on shirts you sell without a license. Peeps is a Just Born trademark, and cartoon and storybook rabbits belong to their owners. A generic bunny, eggs, chicks, and pastel colors are free to use.

What blanks work best for Easter shirts?

Light colors like white, pale pink, light blue, and mint, in cotton or a soft cotton blend for families and a lightweight performance blank for race shirts. Add a darker outline when the art is a pastel on a pastel shirt.
