MagicSeal DTF Finishing: Sheets, Spray, Price, Settings

MagicSeal is a DTF finishing product from DTG Pro that is pressed over a transfer after the film is peeled, with the claim of a softer hand, better breathability, and longer wash life. It comes as a reusable finishing sheet or as a spray. It won the 2026 Impressions Industry Impact (III) Award for Best New DTF Materials/Tech, announced by Impressions magazine on March 12, 2026. As of September 23, 2026, sheets start at $18 and spray kits at $37.50 on DTG Pro's site. The claims below are the manufacturer's. DTF Database has not tested MagicSeal, and the magazine that gave the award noted that it had not tested it either.

Where MagicSeal Fits in the DTF Process

Many DTF films already call for a second press after the carrier is peeled: a few seconds under parchment or a Teflon sheet to push the ink and adhesive into the fabric. Our DTF transfer not sticking guide explains why skipping that post-press is a common cause of failure.

MagicSeal replaces the plain cover sheet in that step. The sheet version is a silicone-surfaced finishing sheet laid over the print. The spray version is misted onto the transfer, then pressed under a Teflon sheet. Either way, it adds material or a surface texture during the final press rather than changing the print itself.

DTG Pro says MagicSeal works on DTF, DTG, vinyl/HTV, white toner, and screen-printed transfers.

How It Is Applied

Sheet. DTG Pro lists an operating range of 270 to 290°F for the original sheet and 270 to 330°F for the Pro Sheet. The original sheet has to be conditioned before its first use, and the Pro Sheet does not. After the transfer is pressed and the film peeled, the sheet goes over the design for the post-press. Spray (V2.0). DTG Pro's instructions: finish the normal transfer and peel, spray evenly from about 10 inches away using two to three sprays for a letter-size print, then press for 15 seconds under the included Teflon sheet. The product page does not give a temperature or pressure for the spray step.

These figures come from the manufacturer and have not been independently verified. Impressions described online reviews as mixed, with some very positive customer reports. A shop can verify the claims cheaply: press two identical shirts, finish one with MagicSeal, then wash both 10 to 20 times on the same cycle and compare. Who Should Try It

• Shops getting "feels like a sticker" complaints. A finishing press is the cheapest lever on hand feel before changing film or ink.
• Decorators selling premium or athletic pieces where breathability and softness matter.
• Shops seeing early cracking or edge lift. Fix the base press first; a finishing product cannot rescue an under-bonded transfer.

At $18 for a compact sheet, the product costs less than one reprinted order to test. Anyone buying DTF transfers from a supplier can use it too, since it goes on after the transfer is applied.
