New Year's Eve Shirts 2027: Designs, Dates and DTF Tips

New Year's Eve 2026 falls on Thursday, December 31, and New Year's Day 2027 on Friday, January 1, which gives most party hosts a long weekend. For a custom shirt shop, New Year's is a short, sharp sales window: orders arrive after Christmas, and the shirts have to be pressed and delivered in the five working days between Dec. 25 and Dec. 31.

Gold, silver, and dark shirts

New Year's designs depend on metallic colors, and this is where customers get disappointed. Standard DTF ink prints gold and silver as flat gold-toned and gray colors, not as a metallic shine. On a black shirt, the white underbase keeps those colors bright, but they will not sparkle.

For real shine, there are three options:

2. Foil accents, which add a second press step and cost to each shirt.
3. Metallic heat transfer vinyl for simple text and numerals.

Production around the holidays

The week between Christmas and New Year's is the hardest part of the year to get transfers delivered. Many suppliers close or slow down, and carriers run reduced pickup schedules. Plan for it:

• Order evergreen New Year's transfers (countdowns, fireworks, champagne) by early December along with Christmas stock, and keep them on hand.

Press settings

Most New Year's party shirts are cotton or cotton blends. DTF Database's press settings chart lists 300 to 325°F for 10 to 15 seconds on 100% cotton and 285 to 295°F for 12 to 15 seconds on 50/50 blends. Sequined garments are a poor fit for DTF, because the heat can melt or dull the sequins.
