Why Flock replaces StripFlock Pro
Siser's FAQ answers the question directly: Flock "will gradually replace" StripFlock Pro as inventory runs out. The company says the materials and manufacturing behind StripFlock Pro have become increasingly difficult and costly to source. Some StripFlock Pro colors will stay on sale while supplies last, and Siser points buyers to distributors and retailers for remaining stock. When we checked SiserStore on Nov. 8, several StripFlock Pro colors, including White, Black, and Red, were already out of stock.
Three differences matter for shops switching over:
- No layering. StripFlock Pro could be layered. Flock cannot, so a two-color flock varsity design has to be cut as a knockout, where each color sits directly on the garment.
- Different shades. Siser says Flock colors may not match StripFlock Pro exactly. Shops with repeat team orders should press a sample before promising a match. Camel is a new color.
- White backing on some colors. Camel, Maize, and Gold have a white backing, while StripFlock Pro colors had color-matched backing. On a dark shirt that can show at the cut edge if the cut is not clean.
Application settings
Siser's instructions for a heat press:
- Preheat the garment for 2 to 3 seconds.
- Cover with a heat transfer cover sheet or multipurpose paper.
- Press at 305°F (150°C) with medium pressure for 10 to 15 seconds. EasyPress users should add about 30 degrees.
- Peel the carrier warm, at least 10 to 15 seconds after the press opens.
For a household iron, Siser says to set the dial between Cotton and Linen and use medium to firm pressure for 10 to 15 seconds. Wash care: wait 24 hours, machine wash warm or cold with mild detergent, dry on low, and skip bleach, dry cleaning, and liquid fabric softener. Siser does not recommend sublimating onto Flock.
Starting cut settings from Siser are a 45° blade, force 25 to 30, offset 0.250, and speed 10, with a test cut first. Siser links a separate PDF for other cutters. Shops choosing a cutter can compare models in our Siser Juliet vs. Romeo review.
Because Flock is not dye-blocking, sublimated polyester jerseys can bleed dye into lighter colors. For dyed polyester, a dye-blocking product or a low-temperature DTF transfer is the safer choice. Our polyester heat-press guide covers bleed and scorching.
Flock HTV, DTF, or embroidery?
Siser positions Flock for left-chest logos, spirit wear, team names, athleisure, and fashion, and as an alternative to embroidery. That puts it in the same conversations as our DTF vs. embroidery comparison.
- Flock HTV gives a raised, velvety texture that DTF cannot match. It suits one- or two-color text and simple shapes. Every piece is cut and weeded by hand, so labor grows with detail and quantity.
- DTF prints full color, gradients, and photos with no weeding and handles large runs of a detailed design faster. It has a smooth, flat hand. See DTF vs. vinyl for the full comparison.
- Embroidery has the most premium perceived value but costs more per piece and needs digitizing.
A common approach is to use DTF for the full-color graphic and add a flock name or number for texture, the same way shops pair DTF with puff vinyl in our Siser Brick puff HTV review.
Frequently asked questions
Is Siser discontinuing StripFlock Pro?
Siser says its new Flock HTV will gradually replace StripFlock Pro as inventory is depleted, because StripFlock Pro's materials have become harder and more costly to source. Some StripFlock Pro colors may stay available through distributors and retailers while supplies last.
What temperature do you press Siser Flock at?
Siser recommends 305°F (150°C) at medium pressure for 10 to 15 seconds, with a 2 to 3 second preheat and a cover sheet. Peel the carrier warm. EasyPress users should add about 30 degrees to that temperature.
Can you layer Siser Flock HTV?
No. Siser says Flock cannot be layered and recommends the knockout method for multi-color designs, where each color is cut so it sits directly on the garment. That is a change from StripFlock Pro, which could be layered.
How much does Siser Flock cost?
On SiserStore, a 12 x 10 inch sheet is $4.99, a 12 x 12 inch sheet is $5.99, and 12-inch rolls run from $18.99 for 5 feet to $68.99 for 20 feet. Prices were observed Nov. 8, 2026 and are the same for every color.
What colors does Siser Flock come in?
Siser Flock launched in 12 colors: White, Black, Royal, Navy, Red, Maize, Green, Orange, Gold, Apple Green, Camel, and Chocolate. Siser says more colors are planned and that shades may not match StripFlock Pro exactly.
